About

I’m so happy you are here spending your valuable time viewing my work, if only for a minute. That means so much to me. Here is a little bit about myself.

I have a Bachelors In Fine Art with a dual concentration in Painting and Photography.

In 2004 I moved to Sarasota from St. John In U.S. Virgin Islands where I met my husband Bryan and raised our daughter Maezie. While living on St John for 11 years I painted custom murals, designed artwork for souvenir and clothing companies, and opened Syzygy Gallery which is still a working gallery today. The Caribbean influence is often present in my work.

I have a thirst to learn and create with as many mediums as possible. Some of my favorite mediums are glass on glass mosaics, photography transfer, collage, soft pastel, and painting. I always strive to reuse & recycle materials, found or forgotten objects and breathe new meaning into them. This need comes from living on a very tiny island with extremely limited resources.

Moving to the continental U.S. after so many years gave me the realization that we take materials for granted and often overlook the usefulness of an object when it no longer serves its original purpose. Humans are very wasteful always looking for the newest and better "stuff" when the discarded is made better and has a valuable story to tell. Seeing the randomness in discarded parts and pieces, discovering their beauty and solving how best they fit together to form a new story is what challenges me. Then applying the many techniques I have mastered to make them whole and tell that story is when things get really exciting.

My future hope is to create a solid body of work that embodies all of the mediums I have spent so many years joyfully discovering. This combination of self taught mediums is leading to my current obsession which is mixed media assemblage.

Traci is an amazing artist, co-worker and friend. While she is an accomplished painter who has had her work recognized in a number of galleries and juried shows, her creativity goes beyond traditional canvases, paint and brushes.

She is truly one of the most talented interdisciplinary artists I have ever worked with. Whether she's creating a glass mosaic, an intricate assemblage, or a custom painted piece of furniture, Traci's attention to detail, color and composition is masterful.
